### Why Teams Are Switching from ChatGPT for Slack

ChatGPT for Slack is the official OpenAI integration. It's capable, but it locks your team into one provider and per-seat subscriptions. Here's why teams are making the switch.

#### Per-Seat Pricing Doesn't Scale

ChatGPT for Slack requires a ChatGPT subscription per user (pricing varies by plan). Costs scale with team size whether usage is light or heavy.

Plug and AI: $0 fixed cost + pay only for what your team actually uses. Costs scale with usage rather than seats.

#### GPT Models Only

ChatGPT for Slack only gives you access to GPT models. But sometimes Claude is better for analysis , Gemini for search-grounded answers , or DeepSeek for coding . No single model is best at everything.

Plug and AI: Access 300+ models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Meta, Mistral, and more — all from one Slack app.

#### Requires Paid Slack Plan

Some ChatGPT for Slack AI agent features may require a paid Slack plan. That's an additional cost on top of the ChatGPT subscription.

Plug and AI: Works on free Slack plans via @mentions, direct messages, /ai commands, thread conversations, image generation, and image analysis.

#### One Workspace, One Bill

With ChatGPT for Slack, each user needs their own ChatGPT subscription. That means managing multiple subscriptions, separate billing, and chasing reimbursement receipts across your team.

Plug and AI: One shared workspace balance covers everyone. Top up once via Stripe. No per-user accounts, no separate subscriptions, no billing headaches.

## AI for Microsoft Teams (`/ai-for-microsoft-teams/`)

**Page Title:** AI for Microsoft Teams 2026 — GPT, Claude & Gemini in Teams | Plug and AI

### The best way to add AI to Microsoft Teams without buying seats for everyone

Plug and AI brings GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and 300+ more models into Microsoft Teams, with image generation, vision and PDF analysis — on pay-per-use pricing that usually costs ~$35/month total for a team of 10, instead of $30 per user for Copilot (as of 2026).

Free starter credit for every tenant · No credit card required

### Why multi-model AI inside Microsoft Teams

Microsoft 365 Copilot only gives you Microsoft's models, and charges $30 per user every month (as of 2026). Most teams want the best model for each task — and want to pay for what they actually use. Plug and AI is a model layer for Teams: every major model, one shared balance.

- **One app, every major model** — GPT for drafting, Claude for reasoning, Gemini for research, Grok and DeepSeek for variety, plus 300+ more via OpenRouter. Switch model mid-conversation without leaving Teams.
- **No per-seat fees** — Copilot charges per user; Plug and AI charges for usage. One shared balance per Microsoft 365 tenant means adding teammates never grows the bill on its own.
- **Multimodal, not just chat** — generate images, analyze images you send (vision), and read PDFs and HTML files — all from a 1:1 chat or a channel @mention.
- **Teams-first workflow** — chat 1:1, @mention in a channel, set a default model chain for the tenant, and check balance and settings in the personal tab dashboard.

### What Plug and AI does in Microsoft Teams

- **300+ models, no vendor lock-in** — GPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), Grok (xAI), DeepSeek and 300+ more, with premium, balanced (default), free and image chains switchable per message.
- **Image generation and vision** — generate assets on demand, or send a screenshot, chart or photo and ask the model to analyze it.
- **PDF and HTML file analysis** — drop a PDF or HTML file into the chat and ask for a summary, key points, or answers — no separate upload tool.
- **Personal tab dashboard + tenant defaults** — check your shared balance and settings, and set a per-tenant default model chain for a consistent experience.

### How to add AI to Microsoft Teams

1. **Open the Apps store in Teams** — click Apps in the left rail to open the in-client app store.
2. **Search "Plug and AI"** — find it in the marketplace and click Add, or use the direct install link.
3. **Chat or @mention** — message the bot 1:1, or @mention it in a channel. Your tenant gets free starter credit to begin right away.

### AI for Teams pricing, compared

No per-seat fees. You pay for usage, not headcount — that's how a 10-person team typically lands at ~$35/mo instead of $300+.

| Option | Monthly cost | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Microsoft 365 Copilot | $300/mo ($30/user, as of 2026) | Microsoft's models only · annual commitment |
| Per-seat ChatGPT | $200+/mo ($20/user) | 1 vendor · separate from Teams |
| **Plug and AI** | **~$35/mo · whole team** | **300+ models · pay per use** |

## Microsoft Copilot Alternative (`/microsoft-copilot-alternative/`)

**Page Title:** Microsoft Copilot Alternative 2026 — Pay-Per-Use AI in Teams | Plug and AI

### The Microsoft Copilot Alternative — Pay Per Use, Not Per Seat

Microsoft 365 Copilot is $30/user/month on an annual commitment (as of 2026) and locks you to Microsoft & OpenAI models. Plug and AI puts GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and 300+ models inside Microsoft Teams — pay only for what your team uses.

Free starter credit for new tenants · No per-seat fees · No annual commitment

### How Plug and AI Works in Teams

Plug and AI is a multi-model AI app for Microsoft Teams. It routes your prompts to providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and xAI — so you get the best model from every provider, right inside the Teams client your organization already uses.

- Chat 1:1 or @mention the bot in any Teams channel
- Pick a model for each question — switch mid-conversation anytime
- Pay per use at AI provider rates — just a 10% service fee on top
- One shared balance per Microsoft 365 tenant — no per-seat licenses
- Free starter credit for every new tenant — no annual commitment

### Why Teams Choose Plug and AI Over Microsoft 365 Copilot

- **$30/user/month doesn't scale** — for a team of 10 that's $300/month committed for a year, used or not. Plug and AI has $0 fixed cost, no per-seat fee, no annual commitment.
- **Locked to Microsoft & OpenAI models** — Copilot runs on Microsoft's chosen OpenAI models. Plug and AI gives 300+ models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Meta, Mistral and more, per task, right in the message.
- **Requires a Microsoft 365 subscription** — Copilot is an add-on to a qualifying M365 plan. Plug and AI installs straight into Teams from the Microsoft marketplace with no add-on and free starter credit.
- **One tenant, one bill** — Copilot needs a licensed seat per user, paid a year at a time. Plug and AI shares one balance across the whole tenant, topped up via Stripe.

### The Cost Math: a 10-Person Team

- **Microsoft 365 Copilot: $300/month** — 10 seats × $30/user/month, annual commitment (as of 2026), plus your existing Microsoft 365 subscription.
- **Plug and AI: ~$35/month** — one shared tenant balance for the same 10 people at moderate usage, pay per use, no seats. About 8–9× cheaper.

### When Microsoft 365 Copilot Is the Right Choice

Choose Microsoft 365 Copilot if you need AI writing inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; if you want everything under one Microsoft agreement with Microsoft's data-residency and compliance commitments; or if you rely on Microsoft Graph grounding across SharePoint, OneDrive and your org's documents. For flexible, multi-model AI chat in Teams without per-seat cost, Plug and AI is the better fit — many teams run both.

### Frequently Asked Questions

#### Is there a cheaper alternative to Microsoft 365 Copilot?

Yes. Plug and AI is a pay-per-use alternative that runs inside Microsoft Teams. Microsoft 365 Copilot is $30 per user per month on an annual commitment (as of 2026) and requires a qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription. Plug and AI has no per-seat fee — you share one balance per Microsoft 365 tenant and pay only for what your team actually uses. A team of 10 typically spends around $35/month total versus $300/month for the same 10 Copilot seats.

#### Can I get GPT and Claude in Teams without Copilot?

Yes. Plug and AI brings GPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), Grok (xAI), DeepSeek and 300+ more models directly into Microsoft Teams. You pick the model per message and can switch mid-conversation. Microsoft 365 Copilot uses the models Microsoft selects and hosts — OpenAI-based, with Anthropic model options rolling out as of 2026 — so you don't get per-message choice across 300+ models from many labs the way you do with Plug and AI.

#### Does Microsoft Copilot require a Microsoft 365 subscription?

Microsoft 365 Copilot is an add-on that requires a qualifying Microsoft 365 business or enterprise subscription plus the $30/user/month Copilot license on an annual commitment (as of 2026). There is a separate free "Microsoft Copilot" chat tier, but it does not include the Office-document integration or the Teams AI agent capabilities of the paid product. Plug and AI installs directly into Teams with no Microsoft 365 add-on required and gives every new tenant free starter credit.

#### What is the difference between Copilot and Plug and AI?

Microsoft 365 Copilot is deeply integrated into Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and is billed at a fixed $30 per user per month (as of 2026). Plug and AI is a multi-model AI assistant for Microsoft Teams billed pay-per-use with no per-seat fee. Plug and AI gives you 300+ models to choose from and one shared tenant balance; Copilot gives you Office-document authoring inside the Microsoft apps. If you need AI writing directly inside Word and Excel documents, choose Copilot. If you want flexible multi-model chat, image generation and vision in Teams without per-seat cost, choose Plug and AI.

#### Does Plug and AI work inside Microsoft Teams channels?

Yes. Plug and AI works in 1:1 chat and in channels via @mentions. It supports image generation, vision (image input), PDF and HTML file analysis, model switching, a per-tenant default model chain, and a personal tab dashboard — all inside Teams.

#### How is Plug and AI billed across a Microsoft 365 tenant?

Plug and AI uses one shared balance per Microsoft 365 tenant. New tenants get free starter credit, and you top up when needed via Stripe. There are no per-user accounts, no per-seat subscriptions, and no annual commitment — costs scale with usage, not headcount.

## ChatGPT for Microsoft Teams (`/chatgpt-for-microsoft-teams/`)

**Page Title:** ChatGPT in Microsoft Teams 2026 — How to Get GPT in Teams | Plug and AI

### How to Get ChatGPT Inside Microsoft Teams

There's no official OpenAI chatbot you can talk to inside the Teams client. The practical way to get GPT — plus Claude, Gemini and 300+ models — right in Teams is Plug and AI. Pay per use, no per-seat fees.

Free starter credit for every new tenant · No credit card to start

### Is there an official ChatGPT app for Microsoft Teams?

Short answer: not the kind you're probably looking for. As of 2026, OpenAI does not publish a ChatGPT chatbot that you install into the Microsoft Teams client and chat with directly. OpenAI does offer an official Microsoft Teams connector — but it's primarily the other way around: it lets ChatGPT (on ChatGPT's own website and apps) securely search and read your Teams chats and channels for context. It requires a paid ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu plan and needs your Microsoft Entra admin to approve its scopes. As of 2026 its actions can include sending messages, but that's admin-gated and still driven from ChatGPT's side — it is not a chatbot living inside the Teams client. So if your goal is to type a prompt in Teams and get a GPT answer back in Teams, you need a third-party AI app — Plug and AI is one, live in the Microsoft Teams marketplace, giving you GPT models plus Claude, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek without a per-seat subscription.

### The three ways to get GPT in Microsoft Teams

1. **OpenAI's official Teams connector** — lets ChatGPT.com search and read your Teams messages for context. Lives on ChatGPT's side, not inside Teams — it isn't a chatbot in the Teams client (its message-sending actions, added by 2026, are admin-gated and still driven from ChatGPT). Requires a per-seat ChatGPT subscription (Business roughly ~$25-30/user/month as of 2026, Enterprise/Edu custom) and Entra admin approval.
2. **Microsoft Copilot** — Microsoft's own assistant, built on OpenAI models and deeply integrated across Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams). The most "native" option, but licensed per user and locked to whichever models Microsoft ships.
3. **Plug and AI** — a standalone Teams app you install from the marketplace. Message it 1:1 or @mention it in any channel and it replies using your tenant's default model chain — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek and 300+ more via OpenRouter. Switch the chain any time with `model premium`. Pay-per-use from a shared tenant balance, no per-seat fees, free starter credit.

### How to add ChatGPT to Microsoft Teams with Plug and AI

1. **Open the Teams app store** — click Apps in the left sidebar, or use the direct install link.
2. **Search for "Plug and AI"** — it's published in the Microsoft Teams marketplace.
3. **Click Add** — for yourself, or to a team/channel so everyone can @mention it. Every new tenant gets a free starter credit.
4. **Send your first prompt** — chat 1:1 or @mention it in a channel. To change which models answer, send `model premium` (or another alias like `balanced`) — that sets the default model chain for the whole tenant. The premium chain includes GPT and Claude models.

### What Plug and AI does inside Teams

GPT + 300 models via OpenRouter (set the tenant's default chain with `model premium`); 1:1 chat & @mentions; image generation & vision; PDF & HTML analysis; per-tenant default chain; personal tab dashboard.

### Why many models beats one model

No single model wins every task, and being locked to one provider means paying for its worst days too. Use GPT for general drafting and structured writing, Claude for long-document analysis and contract review, Gemini for search-grounded answers, and DeepSeek/open models for low-cost, high-volume tasks. With Plug and AI you set the right default model chain for your tenant — and switch it any time with a single `model` command.

### How much does ChatGPT for Teams cost?

| | Plug and AI | Per-seat ChatGPT Business/Enterprise |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Pricing model | Pay per use ($0 fixed) | ~$25-30 / user / month |
| Team of 10 | ~$35 / month typical | ~$250-300 / month |
| Chat with AI inside Teams | Yes | Connector searches Teams from ChatGPT |
| Models | GPT + Claude + Gemini + 300 more | GPT only |
| Billing | One shared balance, Stripe top-ups | Per-seat subscription |

_Prices as of 2026 and subject to change. Plug and AI charges AI provider rates plus a 10% service fee._

### Frequently Asked Questions

#### Is there an official ChatGPT app for Microsoft Teams?

Not in the way most people expect. As of 2026 there is no official OpenAI chatbot you install into the Teams client and talk to. OpenAI does offer an official Microsoft Teams connector, but it's primarily the other way around — it lets ChatGPT (on its own website/app) securely search and read your Teams chats and channels for context. It requires a paid ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu plan and Microsoft Entra admin approval. As of 2026 its actions can include sending messages, but that's admin-gated and still driven from ChatGPT's side — it is not a chatbot living inside the Teams client. To actually chat with GPT inside Teams you use a third-party app such as Plug and AI, Microsoft Copilot (built on OpenAI models), or a custom Azure OpenAI bot.

#### How do I add ChatGPT to Microsoft Teams?

Open Microsoft Teams, go to Apps, search for "Plug and AI", and click Add — or use the direct install link. Every new tenant gets a free starter credit, so you can send a message to GPT immediately. Then chat 1:1 or @mention the bot in any channel. To change which models answer, send `model premium` (or another alias like `balanced`) — that sets the default model chain for the whole tenant.

#### How much does ChatGPT for Teams cost?

OpenAI's official Teams connector requires a paid ChatGPT plan. As of 2026 ChatGPT Business runs roughly $25-30 per user per month depending on billing (annual is lower), while Enterprise and Edu are custom-priced — see openai.com pricing. On the Business tier a team of 10 is therefore roughly $250-300/month at monthly billing, less on annual, and per-seat cost keeps scaling with headcount. Plug and AI has no per-seat fee: you pay per use at AI provider rates plus a 10% service fee, from one shared tenant balance. A team of 10 with moderate usage typically spends around $35/month, and every new tenant starts with free credit.

#### Can I use GPT-5 in Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Plug and AI gives you OpenAI's latest GPT models directly in Teams, alongside Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek and 300+ other models through OpenRouter. Send `model premium` (or another alias like `balanced`) to set the tenant's default model chain — the premium chain includes GPT and Claude models.

#### Is ChatGPT in Teams safe for company data?

Plug and AI sends your prompts via API to the providers in your tenant's model chain, routed through OpenRouter. Because a chain has fallbacks, a request may be served by another model or provider in the chain if the primary one fails. It all runs on standard API terms — leading providers do not train their models on data sent through their standard API — and billing is per API call from a shared tenant balance, with no per-seat accounts needed. We don't claim specific compliance certifications on this page — evaluate the app against your own organization's security and data-handling requirements before rolling it out.

#### What's the difference between ChatGPT in Teams and Microsoft Copilot?

Microsoft Copilot is Microsoft's own assistant, built on OpenAI models and deeply woven into Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). It's licensed per user and locks you to Microsoft's chosen models. Plug and AI is a standalone Teams app that gives you many providers' models — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek and more — with pay-per-use pricing and no per-seat license.

## Claude in Microsoft Teams (`/claude-in-microsoft-teams/`)

**Page Title:** Claude in Microsoft Teams 2026 — Use Claude AI in Teams | Plug and AI

### Use Claude AI Inside Microsoft Teams

There's no official standalone Claude app for Microsoft Teams as of 2026. Plug and AI is the practical way to chat with Anthropic's Claude — Opus, Sonnet and Haiku — right in Teams, alongside GPT, Gemini and 300+ other models. Pay per use, no per-seat fees.

Free starter credit · No per-seat fees · Shared tenant balance

### Does Claude Have an Official Microsoft Teams App?

Short answer, as of 2026: no — there is no official standalone Claude app for Microsoft Teams from Anthropic.

- **Claude's official chat integration is Slack-first** — Anthropic's workspace chat product (often called "Claude Tag" or Claude in Slack) launched on Slack. A Teams version has been reported as in development but is unconfirmed with no announced release date.
- **The Microsoft 365 connector is read-only** — Anthropic ships a connector that lets Claude search your Teams messages, Outlook, SharePoint and OneDrive from inside claude.ai, but it can't post, reply or run a conversation inside Teams.
- **Where Plug and AI fits** — a Microsoft Teams app (live in the marketplace) that lets your team chat with Claude directly in Teams, 1:1 or by @mention, via OpenRouter — the Claude family plus 300+ other models in one bot.

### How to Get Claude in Microsoft Teams with Plug and AI

1. **Install Plug and AI from the Teams marketplace** — your tenant gets a free starter credit, no credit card required.
2. **Open a 1:1 chat or @mention in a channel** — message the bot directly for a private conversation, or @mention it in any channel to bring Claude into a group discussion. You also get a personal tab to check your tenant's balance, usage and default model chain.
3. **Ask for Claude — and switch models any time** — name the model in your message (for example "use Claude Opus"), or set a per-tenant default chain so Claude answers by default. Switch to GPT, Gemini or Grok mid-conversation whenever another model fits the job better.

### What Claude Is Best At in Teams

- **Long documents & PDFs** — attach a PDF, HTML file or image and ask Claude to read, summarize or extract from it.
- **Careful reasoning & writing** — nuanced drafting, editing and step-by-step analysis.
- **Vision & file analysis** — understand screenshots, diagrams and scanned pages.

Claude itself doesn't generate images. In Plug and AI, image generation is handled by image-capable models such as Gemini — Claude covers reading and reasoning over images, not creating them.

### Claude + 300 Other Models, One Teams Bot

Draft with Claude Sonnet, get a second opinion from GPT, pull a web-grounded answer from Gemini, or hand a coding question to DeepSeek — all in the same Teams conversation. Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Llama, Mistral and 300+ more draw from a single shared tenant balance, with a per-tenant default chain.

### Pricing: Claude in Teams, the Math

| | Plug and AI (Claude in Teams) | Anthropic Claude Team plan |

| Runs inside Teams | Yes — 1:1 & channel | No standalone Teams app (2026) |

### Frequently Asked Questions

#### Is there an official Claude app for Microsoft Teams?

As of 2026 there is no official standalone Claude app for Microsoft Teams from Anthropic. Anthropic's workspace chat product (Claude Tag / Claude in Slack) launched Slack-first, and a Teams version has been reported as in development but is not confirmed and has no announced release date. Separately, Anthropic's Microsoft 365 connector lets Claude search Teams messages, but it is read-only — it cannot post or reply inside Teams. Plug and AI is a practical way to chat with Claude directly inside Microsoft Teams today.

#### How do I use Claude in Microsoft Teams?

Install Plug and AI from the Microsoft Teams marketplace, open a 1:1 chat with the bot or @mention it in a channel, and ask your question. Name a Claude model (for example "use Claude Opus") and Plug and AI routes your message to Claude. You can switch models per message and get a free starter credit to begin.

#### Which Claude models can I use in Teams?

Plug and AI gives you Anthropic's Claude family — Claude Opus, Claude Sonnet and Claude Haiku — inside Microsoft Teams, accessed via OpenRouter. Claude is part of the premium chain. You also get GPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek and 300+ other models in the same bot, switchable per message.

#### How much does Claude in Teams cost?

Plug and AI is pay-per-use with no per-seat fees: $0/month fixed, plus AI provider rates and a 10% service fee, drawn from a shared tenant balance you top up with Stripe. A team of 10 typically spends around $35/month. By comparison, Anthropic's Claude Team plan is roughly $25/seat/month (Standard) as of 2026 — about $250/month for 10 seats.

#### Can Claude read PDFs in Microsoft Teams?

Yes. In Plug and AI for Teams you can attach a PDF, image or HTML file in a 1:1 chat and ask Claude to analyze it. Claude is strong at reading long documents and reasoning over their contents. Note that Claude itself does not generate images — image generation in Plug and AI uses image-capable models such as Gemini.

#### Does Plug and AI for Teams charge per seat?

No. Plug and AI has no per-seat fees. Your whole Microsoft Teams tenant shares one balance and you pay only for the AI usage, plus a 10% service fee. There is no minimum seat count and no monthly commitment.

## Best AI Apps for Microsoft Teams (`/best-ai-teams-apps/`)

**Page Title:** Best AI Apps for Microsoft Teams 2026 — Ranked & Compared | Plug and AI

### Best AI Apps for Microsoft Teams 2026 — Ranked & Compared

We compared the top AI apps for Microsoft Teams — chat assistants, Office integration, and meeting note takers — on models, pricing, and features. Facts about third-party apps were verified against public sources as of July 2026. Full disclosure: Plug and AI is our own product; we rank it #1 in the multi-model chat-assistant category, list honest cons for it, and note it is not the right pick for Office-document work or meeting transcription.

### The Rankings

1. **Plug and AI — Best Multi-Model Value** — a multi-model chat assistant for Teams routing prompts to GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek and 300+ more via OpenRouter, pay-per-use from one shared tenant balance. 1:1 chat and channel @mentions, image generation, vision, PDF/HTML analysis, ~$35/month for a team of 10 with a free starter credit. Cons: no Office-document integration, no meeting transcription, responses not streamed on Teams, reminders feature Slack-only.
2. **Microsoft 365 Copilot** — the only assistant that lives inside the Teams client itself; deep Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook integration grounded in org data via Microsoft Graph, meeting summaries from Teams' own transcription. ~$30/user/mo enterprise add-on (Business add-on ~$21/user from July 2026), per-seat on top of a qualifying M365 plan, GPT-based only.
3. **Perplexity (Computer in Teams)** — @Computer mentions and DMs for web-grounded research and multi-step agent tasks; connects to Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Excel, Azure DevOps. Requires Perplexity Pro/Enterprise Pro/Max; no model switching; image generation/editing added (GPT-Image-2, as of 2026) but on a single locked model.
4. **Otter.ai** — meeting note taker; OtterPilot joins Teams calls for real-time transcripts, summaries and action items. Per-seat subscription; meeting-notes only.
5. **Fireflies.ai** — high-accuracy transcription across 60+ languages with CRM sync (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive). Per-seat subscription; meeting-notes only.
6. **Read AI** — meeting notes plus a cross-tool knowledge graph across 50+ integrations; bot-free capture option. Per-seat subscription; meeting-intelligence focus.

### How to Choose the Right Teams AI App

- **Flexible chat & content assistant** — pick Plug and AI for many-model chat, drafting, image generation and file analysis without per-seat fees.
- **You live in Word, Excel, and Outlook** — pick Microsoft 365 Copilot for AI that acts on your Office documents and org data.

- **You want web research with citations** — pick Perplexity if research and agent tasks are your core need.

### Our Verdict

Plug and AI is our pick for best multi-model AI app for Microsoft Teams in 2026: 300+ models from every major provider, pay-per-use with no per-seat fees, and a shared tenant balance you can start with free credit. If Office-document automation is the priority, Microsoft 365 Copilot is the native pick; for meeting transcription, Otter, Fireflies, Read AI or Fellow lead. Many teams run Plug and AI for everyday AI chat alongside a note taker — and skip Copilot's per-seat bill.

### Frequently Asked Questions

#### What is the best AI app for Microsoft Teams in 2026?

It depends on the job. For a flexible chat assistant, Plug and AI is the best value: it brings 300+ AI models — including GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and DeepSeek — into Teams with pay-per-use pricing and no per-seat fees. For deep Office-document integration, Microsoft 365 Copilot is the native choice. For meeting notes, Otter, Fireflies, Read AI, and Fellow lead. Disclosure: Plug and AI is our product.

#### Is Microsoft Copilot the only AI for Teams?

No. Microsoft 365 Copilot is the native, built-in option, but the Microsoft Teams marketplace hosts many independent AI apps. Plug and AI adds multi-model chat (GPT, Claude, Gemini and more) with pay-per-use pricing; Perplexity brings AI research; and Otter, Fireflies, Read AI, and Fellow specialise in meeting transcription and summaries. You can run these alongside — or instead of — Copilot.

#### What is the cheapest AI assistant for Microsoft Teams?

Plug and AI is among the cheapest for chat assistance: $0/month fixed cost, pay-per-use billing, no per-seat fees, and a free starter credit — a team of 10 typically spends around $35/month total. By contrast, Microsoft 365 Copilot is roughly $30 per user per month (about $21/user for the Copilot Business add-on from July 2026), and meeting note takers use per-seat subscriptions. Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat has a free tier for eligible Microsoft 365 subscribers, but without full Office integration.

#### Which Teams AI apps support GPT and Claude?

Plug and AI supports both GPT and Claude — plus Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, and 300+ models via OpenRouter — in the same Teams app, with model switching mid-conversation. Microsoft 365 Copilot is built primarily on OpenAI's GPT models and does not let you switch to Claude. Most meeting note takers use their own models and do not expose model choice to the user.

#### Which AI note taker is best for Microsoft Teams?

For meeting transcription and summaries in Teams, the leading tools in 2026 are Otter.ai (OtterPilot), Fireflies.ai, Read AI, and Fellow. Fellow and Fireflies integrate natively through Microsoft AppSource, while Otter, Read AI, and Fireflies can also join calls as a bot participant. Plug and AI is a chat and content assistant, not a meeting transcription tool, so pair it with a note taker if you need both.

## Privacy (`/privacy.html`)

**Page Title:** Privacy Policy - Plug and AI

### Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 14, 2026

### 1. Introduction

Welcome to Plug and AI ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Slack and Microsoft Teams application and services.

### 2. Information We Collect

#### Slack and Microsoft Teams Data

- Messages: We process messages where our bot is mentioned, as well as one-to-one chats and group chats sent to the bot (on Slack, direct messages), to generate AI responses. Message content is stored only in-memory during processing and is never saved to our database or file system.

- User and Team Information: We store your Slack Team ID, User ID, and Team Name (or, on Microsoft Teams, the equivalent tenant, user, and team identifiers) to manage your account and billing.

- Files: If you send attachments to the bot (images for vision analysis, PDFs for document analysis), they are processed entirely in-memory and then discarded. We never save your files or images to our servers, database, or persistent storage.

- Channel data (with consent): On Microsoft Teams, if a tenant administrator grants the corresponding consent, the bot can list channels and read channel history via the Microsoft Graph API to answer questions with channel context. On Slack, equivalent access is governed by the scopes you approve at installation.

On Microsoft Teams, message routing and delivery are handled through the Microsoft Azure Bot Framework; the bot is hosted on Microsoft Azure.

#### Usage Data

We track API usage (token counts, model selection) to calculate costs and bill your workspace appropriately.

#### Billing Information

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. We only retain a record of your credit balance and transaction history.

### 3. How We Use Your Information

- To provide the AI chat service and generate responses.

- To maintain conversation context within Slack threads and Microsoft Teams conversations.

- To process payments and manage your credit balance.

- To improve the performance and reliability of our service.

### 4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

#### Zero Data Retention (ZDR)

#### Our Commitment (Plug and AI)

We maintain a strict Zero Data Retention policy for your message content:

- No Logging: We do not log or persistently record your messages, prompts, or AI responses.

- No Training: We do not use your data, messages, or interactions to train AI models.

- In-Memory Only: We do not persistently store your conversation history or message content in our databases. Messages are processed solely in-memory to generate a response and provide conversational context, then discarded.

#### Third-Party Providers (OpenRouter & Model Providers)

Third-party AI providers (OpenRouter and downstream model providers) may or may not comply with Zero Data Retention policies independently. We cannot guarantee compliance by third-party providers; please review their respective privacy policies. Data retention settings depend on the model and provider you use.

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the following necessary service providers:

#### AI Model Aggregation

We utilize OpenRouter as our exclusive gateway to access various AI models. When you interact with our service, your message content is transmitted to OpenRouter, which routes it to the model provider of your choice.

🤖 Multiple LLM Providers

Our service supports 300+ AI models from multiple providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Mistral, and others. The specific model used depends on your preference settings or explicit selection.

For detailed information about the following policies, you must consult OpenRouter's documentation and each model provider's respective policies:

- LLM model(s) being used: See OpenRouter Models

- LLM data tenancy policy: Varies by provider — review each provider's terms

- LLM data residency policy: Varies by provider — data may be processed in different regions

- LLM retention settings: See OpenRouter ZDR documentation and individual provider policies

Ultimate compliance with any data-retention policy depends on the model provider. Users requiring strict data governance should review provider-specific policies before use.

⚠️ Important Chain of Responsibility Notice

Our service acts as an interface between your Slack workspace or Microsoft Teams tenant and OpenRouter. By using our service, you acknowledge and agree to the following data processing chain:

- Plug and AI (Us): We process your request and securely forward it to OpenRouter.

- OpenRouter: Acts as an aggregator and forwarder. Please review OpenRouter's Privacy Policy . We do not control, are not responsible for, and do not account for OpenRouter's privacy practices or data handling.

- Model Providers: OpenRouter forwards your request to the specific underlying model provider you select (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.). Each of these providers has their own separate privacy policies and data retention practices.

Disclaimer: We expressly disclaim liability for the privacy practices, security standards, or data handling of OpenRouter and any downstream model providers in this chain. You utilize these third-party services at your own risk and are encouraged to review the privacy policies of the specific AI models and aggregators involved.

#### Infrastructure & Payments

- Heroku (Salesforce, Inc.): We use Heroku for application hosting.

- Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare for database services and CDN.

- Stripe: We use Stripe for secure payment processing.

- Slack and Microsoft Teams: As a Slack and Microsoft Teams app, all interactions occur within those platforms.

### 5. Data Retention

We retain account and transaction records (billing data) as long as your account is active.

### 6. Your Rights

You can request the deletion of your data by contacting us. Slack workspace or Microsoft Teams tenant administrators can uninstall the app at any time; uninstalling stops the bot from receiving further messages. On Microsoft Teams, any Microsoft Entra admin consent previously granted (for example Microsoft Graph permissions) can be revoked separately by the tenant administrator in the Microsoft Entra admin center. Uninstalling does not by itself delete stored account and billing records — to have that data deleted, please request deletion via our Support page.

### 7. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please visit our Support page .
